Privacy Policy
Your game stays on your iPhone. There is no account. Your progress, run history and settings are stored only on your device and are never sent to us.
Ads come from Google AdMob, and never interrupt a move. The game shows optional videos when you choose to watch them, and now and then a short ad break at a pause in play. To provide ads, Google may process some device data, as explained below. Personalised ads are shown only with your consent.
This policy explains what data the Magic Colours app (“the app”) processes, why, and what choices you have, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and applicable law.
This website does not use cookies, analytics or trackers. It loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them.
1. Data stored on your device
The app keeps the following on your iPhone so the game works. None of it is sent to the developer or to anyone else.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Current run: the vials on the shelf, score, streak and run counters | Resume the game exactly where you left it |
| History of finished runs: score, vials cleared per colour, number of pours, how often you continued a run or drained a vial with an ad, start and end dates | Show your best score and run statistics |
| Game activity log: when the game is opened and closed and for how long, app version, whether the tutorial was completed, and how ads are used (offered, declined or watched, ad breaks shown) along with the features they unlock (draining a vial, continuing a run) | Understand how the game's features are used, to improve them |
| Settings and game state: appearance, sound, your choices about ad consent, which ad offers you have already accepted, and the play time used to space out ad breaks | Remember your preferences and space out ad breaks |
The activity log does not contain your name, contact details or any advertising identifier, and it currently never leaves your device. If a future version sends anonymous usage statistics to the developer, this policy will be updated beforehand and, where required, your consent will be asked.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google's User Messaging Platform, provided by Google Ireland Limited (in the EEA, UK and Switzerland) and Google LLC (elsewhere). Ads are of two kinds: rewarded videos, which play only when you choose to watch one in exchange for draining a vial or continuing a run that is out of moves; and short ad breaks (interstitials), shown now and then at a pause in play, when a vial clears or when you start a new run, and never in the middle of a move.
To deliver and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, the Google SDK may collect:
- IP address, from which an approximate location (country or city) can be inferred;
- device and system information, such as model, iOS version, language and time zone;
- the advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking, and other identifiers linked to the app;
- interactions with ads, such as views, taps and whether a video was watched to the end;
- diagnostic data about the SDK's performance.
Google processes this data as an independent controller. Learn more in how Google uses information from apps that use its services and in Google's Privacy Policy. The developer does not receive personal data from Google, only aggregated reports on ad revenue and performance.
3. Your choices
- Consent form (EEA, UK, Switzerland)Where the law requires it, the first time you open the game a Google consent form asks whether ads may be personalised and whether information may be stored on or read from your device. You can change your choices at any time from the game's Settings menu › Privacy choices.
- Tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency)iOS asks whether the app may track you across other companies' apps and websites. The advertising identifier is used only if you tap Allow. You can change this at any time in iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- If you say noThe game works exactly the same. The ads you see may be limited and not personalised, based on context rather than on your profile.
4. Purposes and legal bases
- Game features and saved progress · Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR: needed to provide the game you asked for; processed only on your device.
- Personalised ads, and storing or reading information on your device for ads · Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Ads that are not personalised, ad measurement and fraud prevention · Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: legitimate interest in keeping the game free, within the limits of the choices you make in the consent form.
5. Apple
The app is distributed through the App Store. The app supports Apple's SKAdNetwork, which lets advertisers measure ad campaigns without identifying you. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may provide the developer with aggregated, anonymous usage and crash data. Apple's processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. Transfers outside the EU
Google may process advertising data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Such transfers rely on the Data Privacy Framework between the EU and the US and on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Retention
Data on your device stays there until you delete the app (it may also be included in your iPhone or iCloud backups, under your control). Data collected by Google is kept according to Google's own retention policies.
8. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them. It does not ask for your age. If you believe a child's data has been processed, contact us and we will help.
9. Security
Data on your device is protected by the security of iOS (device passcode and system encryption). We recommend keeping iOS up to date.
10. Your rights
Under Articles 15 to 22 GDPR you have the right to:
