Frequently asked questions
- How do I play?Tap or drag a vial onto another one to pour. The top colour moves, with all its matching layers, as many as fit. Any vial with room accepts a pour, whatever colour is on top. Fill a vial with four layers of a single colour to clear it: you score points and a new vial takes its place. Your first run opens with a short tutorial that walks you through your first two pours.
- When does a run end?When no vial has room left, no pour is possible and you are Out of moves. You can watch a short ad to continue: every vial fills with new liquid, and your score and unlocked colours stay. Or you can start a new run. There are no levels and no timer.
- I'm running out of room. What can I do?Use the drain button: watch a short ad, then tap any vial and its top colour, with every matching layer beneath it, pours away for good. The room it frees stays free, and it works even when you are out of moves. It scores nothing, and your streak carries on.
- Are there ads while I play?Never in the middle of a move. Now and then, at a natural pause (when a vial clears or when you start a new run), the game shows a short ad break, announced 3 seconds beforehand by Short ad break. The first comes after 10 minutes of play, then about every 20 minutes. A video you choose to watch counts too, and pushes the next break back. There are no breaks during the tutorial, and no banners.
- Is my progress saved?Yes, automatically after every pour, on your iPhone. Close the app whenever you like and you'll pick up exactly where you left off. There is no account and no cloud save: deleting the app deletes your progress, unless you restore it from an iPhone backup.
- How do I change my ad and privacy choices?Where the consent form applies (for example in the EU and the UK), open the game's Settings menu and choose Privacy choices. To allow or stop tracking, go to iPhone Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. The same menu in the game also opens the Privacy Policy.
- Can I turn off the sound or change the look?Yes. The Settings menu in the game has a single switch for music and sound effects, and an Appearance option: Light, Dark or Automatic.
- Which languages does it speak?English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Russian. The game follows your iPhone's language.
- Is the game free?Yes. Magic Colours is free to download and play; the ads help keep it that way.
